EMPLOYMENT OF SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS

Substitute teachers will be compensated at a half-day or full-day rate as determined by the following: 

Level 1: Substitute teachers without a four-year college degree and who are not certified shall receive $60.00 per half day and $120.00 per full day.  

Level 2: Substitute teachers with a four-year college degree who are not certified shall receive $70.00 per half day and $140.00 per full day.

Level 3: Substitute teachers who hold a current State of Alaska teaching, administrative, or specialist certification shall receive $85.00 per half day and $170.00 per full day. 

Long-term substitutes will be placed on the teachers' certified salary schedule at B-0 or M-0 depending on their degree.

Substitute administrators will be compensated at a half-day or full-day rate as determined by the following:

Substitute administrators who have previously held a State of Alaska Type B administrative certificate and have documented work experience as a certified administrator shall receive $150.00 per half day and $300.00 per full day.
