The Board of Education believes in the active involvement and participation of the Ketchikan community in the affairs of the school district. While the ultimate responsibility for decisions resides with the B.O.E., these committees identify problems, conduct studies and develop recommendations. Advisory Committees are formed by the B.O.E. for the purpose of seeking advice and providing widespread involvement in issues affecting the school district. As the district grows and changes, these advisory committees are an important part of the ongoing dialogue between the school district, school board, and community.
