EMPLOYEE CONCERNS

  1. Informal Resolutions - An employee with a concern will first discuss the concern with his/her immediate supervisor.  The purpose of this discussion will be to gain information regarding the concern and to resolve it on an informal basis.

  2. Formal Request for Resolution - If the employee is not satisfied with the resolution, the employee may submit the concern in writing to the supervisor.  The statement will contain the following information:

    1. The specific cause of the concern
    2. Date, Time and Place if appropriat
    3. Specific recourse sought
    4. Other pertinent information

Within five (5) working days of receipt of the written concern, the supervisor will have a meeting with the employee to hear the employee's concern.  Within ten (10) working days of that meeting, the supervisor will issue his/her decision in writing to the employee.

  1. Appeal to Superintendent's Office - If the employee is dissatisfied with the decision he/she may appeal the decision in writing to the Superintendent's Office within five (5) working days of receipt of the decision. The Superintendent will hear the appeal within ten (10) days of receipt of the written request.  The Superintendent will render his/her decision within ten (10) working days following the hearing.

  2. Appeal to Board of Education - If the employee is dissatisfied with the Superintendent's decision he/she may appeal that decision to the School Board in writing. The concern will be placed on the next appropriate School Board agenda for review.  The review may be in either open or executive session at the request of the employee.  The results of the review will be recorded in the official minutes of the meeting.

The Board shall make its decision within 30 days of the hearing and shall mail its decision to all concerned parties.  The Board's decision shall be final.
