CODES OF ETHICS
The School Board expects district employees to maintain the highest ethical standards, to follow district policies and regulations, and to abide by state and national laws. Employee conduct should enhance the integrity of the district and the goals of the educational program.
The Board expects district employees to accept as guiding principles the codes of ethics published by professional associations to which they may belong.
| Note: Pursuant to 4 AAC 18.010 all teacher contracts must state that the teacher is obligated to abide by the code of ethics and professional standards adopted by the Professional Teaching Practices Commission. See E 4119.21. (revised August 2018). |
Members of the teaching profession are obligated by law to abide by the code of ethics and professional standards adopted by the Professional Teaching Practices Commission (20 AAC 10.010). Employees who violate provisions of the code of ethics and professional standards may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. The district shall report any violation of the code of ethics of which it is aware to the Professional Teaching Practices Commission.
