INTERSCHOLASTIC COMPETITION
Alaska School Activities Association (ASAA) Eligibility Requirements
In order to participate in ASAA activities, a student must:
- Be properly registered in a 9-12 high school program or any combination thereof, in the school where student will participate.
- Be enrolled in a minimum of four classes (semester units) that lead to granting of credit toward graduation.
- Have passed, for the immediately preceding semester, at least four semesters units of credit toward graduation.
- Meet district eligibility requirements, if any.

Semester credit rules apply to each semester, following the first semester of the ninth grade. A grade of incomplete is considered as not passing until the incomplete is changed on the official school records. Academic deficiencies may be made up through successful completion of correspondence courses or summer school. Correspondence study students must meet the same time frame as regular students.
Eligibility Reporting
- The Superintendent or designee shall submit eligibility lists for sports and cheerleading five days before the first contest of each respective season on the form provided by ASAA. Any additions or deletions to the eligibility lists must be filed as an addendum to the original list before an individual is allowed to participate.
- Activities that require eligibility lists to be filed for insurance purposes with the ASAA office are as follows:
Baseball Basketball
Cheerleading Cross Country Running
Cross Country Skiing Football
Gymnastics Hockey
Soccer Softball
Swimming and Diving Tennis
Track and Field Rifle
Volleyball Wrestling
